Troubles with installation (1/6)
«

Everything is installed and properly configured to my opinion, still I keep getting the following error:
Installation script (1/6)
Oops, uncaught exception! : Couldn't create smarty_config.php file
I have OK's on all items. Apparently something goes wrong when fopen tries te create the file. Does anyone know where to seek te solution?
Kind Regards,
Konstant.

I suppose that the first page of the installer shows that config can be written as you shouldn't have gotten to the 2nd page if it didn't. My guess is that there already exists a file
named smarty_config.php and that cannot be written to. Please check to see if such a file exists in the urd directory and remove it if necessary or chmod it so it is writeable by the
webserver. It may also be a permission problem on the urd directory itself.

The problem is solved! Thanks.
I wonder how I can speed up the downloading, as it hangs around 90 KB/s, while my adsl line could do 1,5 MB/s

bits or bytes? Anyway, see if the load is not too high (top will show that) otherwise it is probably the newsserver limiting the connection speed. Also setting more download threads (check both usenet servers and config) may speed things up. Note the download speed of URD is not very reliable. Use vnstat or sth similar for better speed measurements.
