I installed URD version 0.6.0

Everything works great but when i try to connect with SSL even with a high timeout URD timesout.

Thanx for pointing this out.

I have found a silly typo in the code, which I expect causes this:
in the file urdd/urdd_usenet_servers.php are two lines (53 and 66) that read
Code:
$this->encyption = $encr

change these to
Code:
$this->encryption = $encr


If that doesn't help, please post here again.

I can't test it here, as I have no connection to a SSL newsserver

The number of connections does not get to max. The max connections is 6 but i only get 3.

with port 119 it works great.

This worked in version 0.5.5

I assume that your username and password is set correctly for the server, as well as the hostname and port.

Wrt the connection count, did you set the max # threads for the server as well Maximum number of NNTP connections in the global config?

the max is  set correctly here it seems

Actually I don't see any reason it might go wrong. I'll dig further tho...

Can you see e.g. with tcpdump or wireshark what the last message are that are sent to and from the server?

Is this problem still relevant? I can't find anything in the code that would trigger it. And aside from setting up the connection there is no difference between a non SSL and an SSL based connection.

this is another problem in the stream_select() function of php and may not appear in all version. See also http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=41489

I did a quick fix on the code that disables socket timeouts in case ssl/tls is used. That seems to work, but is nasty. Code is in svn.

in /functions/libs/socket.php at line 106 (or thereabouts)

I'm having the same problems with SSL.

urd 0.6.0 on Ubuntu 8.04.

I corrected the typo errors in the file urdd/urdd_usenet_servers.php

and re,oved the code from functions/libs/base_nntp_client.php

I don't seem to be able to find in /functions/libs/socket.php at line 106.

I can connect but very unstable and only 2 threads and then disconnects or pauses the download.

Need a bit of help

Done that and it's staying connected, getting all the Threads, it seems to be really slow 200K when it should be at least 1000K, though this could be because of other things.

I do get this warning in the Log lots of times

You can fix the warning by updating functions/libs/socket.php at line 125 to

I doubt that that will fix the speed problems tho.

the speed thing might be okay now have changed a few settings, but can't be sure

I hate the fix, but as this is a php problem I can't really fix it. I'll see sometime if I can resolve it differently tho for a future version.
