Exactly what do you think is duplicate here... what I see from this table is that htere are 123 parts in one file. The things that must be unique here is the message ID (tho that is not enforced - starts with partxof123 here) and the ID (the first number).
If you get duplicate msgs it would probably mean that the next command at the newsserver isn't functioning well.
Do you see any msgs like:
Cannot select next article for XXX
Cannot find first article for XXX
Cannot get overview for XXX
Cannot determine last article for XXX
(they are at log level notice (log level @ DEBUG or notice will show these if they occur)

I'm using r523 and the eu server of ngroups right now. It had an unexpected response problem before starting to update that group, but now it's gone. Older versions of URD didn't wait for the server although the server issued a 2XX message. Status looks quite good right now, except the low articles/s.

I wrote an alternative update function. Svn up will get the code. It needs a database alteration, see update_db_0.6.0_to_0.6.1_mysql.sql
And you need to add:

$config['use_alt_update'] = TRUE;
to config.php to enable it, otherwise it would run the older function instead.
See if this works better for you. I haven't really done much testing, but it seems to work here. Let me know if it works.

I don't see any problems in the code. I think that the server simply closes the connection without sending a 400 message first. (perhaps you can check that with a run of wireshark or tcpdump)
URD should restart again tho. Does that happen?

this happens after installation and configuration. when i try to configure the usenet server. just after clicking Admin -> usenet servers. urdd doesn't run at this point

Try if this new patch works. If not I think you may have to remove the 4usenet either through the web interface if that works or through the database directly.

I am having this issue with boneless and it seems that the datatype fore the messages numbers is an int... which have a max value of 2147483647
Here is a copy paste of that row from mysql
7934 0 alt.binaries.boneless 1 482622860 2147483648 1664860787 2146878648 5 0 0 0
As you can see the last and first are hitting the mysql limit. I changed the data type to a big int but that didn't change the outcome.
